Welcome. We are RedSkyTrader and are a 'mom and pop' business based in San Diego, California. Our humble start began with a big career change. We knew our current paths of working for big business corporations in sales and finance were not our career destinies. We wanted a greater sense of personal accomplishment and ownership in a career. It was September of 2005 and there we were in a one bedroom apartment with a couple good ideas and a whole lot of determination. We knew that great products at great prices were essential. So we started selling a few nautical items online and at local markets and had excellent experiences. From there we grew our product base and learned from our experiences.

Currently we are enjoying the growth of our business as we begin to create a presence on Rakuten.com Shopping. We are consistently expanding our product line to bring our faithful customers new and unique items. We have a large collection of maritime, medieval items, and many other collectibles for your home. Our products make wonderful gifts and they are more unusual and rare than what you find in the average retail store. As always, we keep our prices super competitive.

In the near future we are looking to move to a bigger warehouse to make room for all of our new products. Though we will stay a small family business, we want our expansion to give more job opportunities to the people in our community and give us more personal time for family and friends.

Our goal is to provide 100% Customer Satisfaction. We do our best to communicate with our customers to promote positive feedback and an overall enjoyable experience. Please feel free to let us know if there is anything that you would like to see.
Tax Policy
California state residents are subject to sales tax.
If you would like your order shipped to a USPS PO BOX instead of a street address, please e-mail us at cs@redskytrader.com before the order has been shipped. Please include your order number in the subject line of the e-mail for identification purposes.
When making arrangements to return or exchange an item, contact us via email within 30 days of receiving your shipment. When returning an item, include a copy of the packing slip and your RMA# (Return Merchandise Authorization Number). We reserve the right to replace all defects, damages and lost or stolen items in lieu of a refund.

If the item you receive is defective or does not function properly, contact us via email within 30 days. Reference the order number along with a description of the defect and include pictures if applicable. (If you cannot email pictures, we will make other arrangements). We can often provide instructions to make a product function as described. Please keep in mind many of our items are for display purposes. If we do not require an inspection, we will email you a return label, return instructions, and/or send a replacement. If we require an inspection, we will let you know the best way to ship the item back to us and the cost (this amount will be refunded if the item is defective). If defective, we will replace it and refund return shipping cost. If not defective, we will assume that you no longer want the item (return costs will not be refunded). See our policy on unwanted items below.

Email us within 30 days if an item arrives damaged. Describe the damage, reference your order number, and include pictures of the packing materials and damage to the item. If you cannot email us pictures we will make other arrangements. We will file a claim with the carrier and arrange to send a replacement. Do not dispose of the damaged item or the packing materials until you are notified that the claims process is complete. Lost or Stolen Items:
UPS will usually deliver shipments within 6 business days and USPS within 10 days, 14 days internationally. You can reference the shipping confirmation number (see order shipped email) for shipping information. Please let us know if you think your package has been lost or stolen. A claim will be filed on your behalf immediately with UPS or 30 days domestic, 45 internationally with USPS and a replacement will be sent.

Unwanted Items:
Returns are accepted unless otherwise stated in the product's description. Contact us by email within 30 days of receiving the product(s) with the order number and the reason for the return. The amount of your refund will be the purchase price of the item less a 15% restocking fee. Shipping and handling charges will not be refunded. Unwanted items must be returned unused and in the same condition they left our warehouse. Insurance and proof of shipment is recommended. Please allow 2 weeks for processing after we receive the item

If holidays or events (i.e. birthdays) make for impractical timelines, we will address those requests on a case by case basis. In the same practical spirit, we reserve the right to refuse returns that may have been used. For example: returning costume items the week after Halloween. We will address these on a case by case basis.
